The Most Frequently Asked Questions About Mailing Machines
Q: The mailing machine was processing mail fine when all of a sudden it stopped printing and the mail continued to run through the machine.
A: The SM58, SM78 and the SM94 all stop printing postage when you run out of funds. Check the "Descending Register" on your postage meter to determine how much funds are left. The model 9000/9515 and 9545 will not allow any mail to pass through at the first value below $10.00.
Q: I have primed the SM94 but there is still no water on my envelopes or tapes.
A: Open the front cover and check the water level in the bottle. Second, remove the water filter & check for foriegn matter. It may just need to be cleaned.
Q: I just replaced the ink cartridge on my 9000/9515 and now it doesn't print at all!
A: When replacing the ink cartridge, note which way the ink cartridge should go in. It sounds funny but many people put it in upside down. The second most common problem is the ink cartridge is not secured. Once in the proper position, push down on the cartridge and you should hear it click into place.
Q: How do I change the Year on my Postage Meter?
A: We've dedicated a whole page for this one! Click the back button on your Web Browser or click on "Support" again. To the right side of the page is a drop down menu where you can select the meter you are using.
Q: I have turned the SM58 on and it says to "set date".
A: When the SM58, SM78 & SM94 are powered on, there is a prompt to set the date. Press the "C" button to clear this function and you ready to process your mail. The 9515 & 9545 will require you to press "ENT" to continue.
Q: The SM78 will not power up.
A: Before you call the Electrician, the SM58, SM78 and the SM94 have power cords like a computer that plug in at both ends. Often the cord has just come un-plugged from the machine's end.
Q: My 9515 is flashing "ccccccc" at me.
A: Time to call the POC Office at 1-800-387-5309. You've run out of money.
